McKinley Springs 2011 Petit Verdot - A deep purple wine with black fruit and lavender aromas. On the palate it has delicious blackberry, Marion berry, tobacco and a hint of smoked meats. It is well structured and refined.
WHITE WINE SELECTION:
Folie a Deux 2014 Chardonnay - Despite this wine's initial big-barrel influence, it becomes a complex, satisfying mix of salted caramel, melon and ginger that remains relatively light bodied and able to display minerality. 90 Points
The Crossings 2016 Sauvignon Blanc - New Zealand. Lifted notes of gooseberry and passionfruit, underpinned with citrus notes. The palate is full with pure fruit flavors, yet balanced with a persistent, crisp mineral finish. A MAW top-seller.
Tres Olmos 2014 Verdejo - Pure citrus, green melon and briny aromas amount to classic Rueda Verdejo. This has a lifted, juicy mouthfeel and dry, pithy, citrusy flavors that fold in stony notes and hints of green herbs. A light, ethereal finish is what you want from the variety. 90 Points
RED WINE SELECTION:
Gentlemen’s Club 2015 Cabernet - Dark fruits, hints of dried herbs and mocha on the nose. The dense palate sees sour red fruits balance out the sweet with a chocolate tannin finish.
Nexo Rioja - This young release from Rioja, Spain is extremely bright and fresh. The wine has an explosive red character showing notes of red cherry, red plum and red apple skin. There is also a sweet and sour combo that may remind you of strawberry-rhubarb. Fresh tobacco leaves, rich potting soil and a green note of trimmed privet comes through as well.
Le Grand 2015 Pinot Noir - A very distinctive and immediately enjoyable Pinot Noir, this is a very juicy, raspberryish, cherryish wine with hints of strawberry and oak and a refreshing note of pepper.
