Welcome to Market Alley Wines

Our Fantastic Featured Wines for December 15

We are committed to spending our holiday bucks locally and hope you will join in our efforts. It matters. It really matters!

And speaking of local, MAW is proud to serve and sell DeNovo Beers brewed right here in Monmouth. Currently, we have their Pale Ale, Wheat, Stout, IPA and Red Ale. You can drink them in our shop or take some home to enjoy. Now you have another opportunity to drink local!

We will only be open from 12 -3 on Dec. 24 and closed on December 25 and January 1. We will be open December 31 from 12 - 7 with live music by the Mark Moore Trio from 5 - 7!

Inkblot 2010 Cabernet Franc - Lodi.  Black cherry on the mid-palate, and a bit of graphite on the finish with a touch of vanilla. It shows complex aromas of freshly crushed fruit (blackberry and plum), pepper and tobacco. With velvet-smooth tannins, this wine is dense and rich.

Lois 2013 Grüner Veltliner - Austria. Lois (rhymes with “Joyce”) is purely aromatic and lively! Lovely aromas of fresh apples and citrus, this wine surprises on the palate with great spice components as well as exotic fruit and a refreshing acidity.

Villa Maria 2013 Sauvignon Blanc Private Bin - New Zealand.  This intense Sauvignon Blanc is alive with a myriad of flavors dominated by gooseberry, passionfruit, fresh citrus, melon and herbaceous aromas. The wine has an enticing palate with a juicy flavor profile, purity and concentration, finishing crisp and clean with an interwoven thread of acidity.

Creme de Lys 2013 Chardonnay - Central Coast, CA.  A bright Chardonnay with fragrant scents of spicy oak and tropical fruit. On the palate, this creamy wine showcases juicy flavors of ripe pear, pineapple, citrus and red apple adding liveliness to the textured palate.

Tait 2012 The Ball Buster -  Australia. "A blend of 78% Shiraz, 12% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Rich, expressive and well-balanced, this full-bodied wine is bursting with black fruit flavor and velvety textured goodness. It finishes with great persistence." 90 pts., Robert Parker

d’Arenburg Stump Jump 2011 Shiraz - Australia.  The nose is chock-full of fresh blackberries, cherries and dark chocolate sprinkled with spices. The palate is fresh and juicy, ripe red fruits mix with plums, blackcurrant, flowers and a twist of black pepper. The tannins are fine with d’Arenberg’s trademark earthiness helping keep this easy going wine in check.

Corvus Cellars 2011 Cuvée - Walla Walla, WA.  A blend of estate grown Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, this wine opens up with black cherry, tar, tobacco and plum and evolves to a defined mid-plate with allspice, roasted marshmallow and cocoa distinctions. This Cuvée delivers a full and rich mouth feel along with a clean finish. A Susan Top Pick!
